Usually, silica based stationary phases for HPLC are grafted with monofunctionnal silane, but recently, studies have put in evidence the effect of grafting mixed functions on the silica surface, a C18 function and a shorter chain (C8, amide, CN, nitro-phenyl, etc). These new products offer different selectivity, coordinated multi-functionality, as well as a spacer effect (C18/C8). Why limit yourself? With SiliCycle, push the limits!
Balance the hydrophobicity of the surface with a C18 function and a shorted hydrocarbon function C8 which play the role of a spacer.
