Keeping in mind that relative retention (α) is a much more powerful term than plates (N) in the expression for resolution in chromatography, choosing a column with different selectivity is almost always more helpful than just going to a smaller particle size when trying to improve a difficult separation. Our new HEAVY columns provide the highest retention of any column we manufacture.
