HECTOR-A’s packing surface allows the use of 100 % water as an eluent, enabling good solvation between the mobile and hydrophilic surfaces. The HECTOR-A phases can be used for the separation of hydrophobic compounds without a phenomenon commonly known as “phase collapse”. HECTOR-A packing introduces high-purity SiO2>99.99 %, which points to a total metal content of <100 ppm. As such, it provides a good peak shape and reproducibility.
The HECTOR-A C18 phase shows similar selectivity as the conventional C18 phases when used for the separation of hydrophobic compounds with typical reversed-phase mobile phases. It is thus suitable for use as a unique universal C18 column.
